HOW TO USE OUR PRODUCTS

Peel off the backing sheet that is on the Stencil to reveal the sticky surface. Place your chosen Fabric, right side uppermost carefully onto the Stencil, starting from an edge and smoothing out any wrinkles as you go. Make sure the fabric goes right to the edges of the Stencil.

Once the fabric has been put on the Stencil, it cannot be moved without the risk of leaving some of the fabric pattern behind.

To trim the fabric, turn the item so that the Stencil is uppermost. Use that as your guide to cut around the edges with either scissors or an extremely sharp craft knife. Sharpness is the key word here. If using a blade that has seen sharper days, or has sticky edges, you may pull on the fabric and draw it off the Stencil.

Use a "pokey tool" to transfer any holes in the Stencil to the fabric.

When cutting any slits, take care with your craft knife: make sure it doesn't slip and cut through the Stencil. It is better to start the cut with the blade at the inner point, rather than the edge. This will minimise the risk of slipping.

If there are scored lines on the Stencil, then fold along these, using finger tips to add pressure. Don't use a paper-creaser on the fabric, as this tends to transfer any dirty marks from the creaser onto the finished product and may also drag at the fabric.

To adhere two surfaces of the Stencils we recommend Stix 2 Double Sided Polyester Ultra Sticky Clear Tape which is featured in our "Sticky Bits" section.

ADDING DECORATIONS

Sometimes narrow-edged peel-offs don't adhere to the fabric. (We haven't found a solution to this, so if you do – please let us know.) Wider peel-offs that have a bigger sticky surface area are generally okay.

Other toppers and decorations can be adhered to your project using Stix 2 double-sided tape or the Clear Sticky Pads in our "Sticky Bits" Section. (These are invaluable if you are making cards, as they do not show through the Stencils.) Glue dots will also work.

We are always at the end of a phone or an e-mail away, if you want more information or help.
